While the clothes I made for my senior project were composed primarily of found materials, either for free or from second hand stores, the Fund for Visual Learning allowed me to afford fabric and sewing materials to make several of the garments from scratch.

This addition to my budget helped me compliment the knowledge I gained from deconstructing clothes with an understanding of how to cut patterns and work from a roll of fabric. I think the Fund promotes a much needed inclusivity in the art department and will continue to be a vital source for students who are discouraged by the costs of making.
